About
About Woodhead Workshop
Woodhead Workshop is a New Zealand business making custom wedding cake toppers and figures from customers’ photos, along with a small range of desk products and custom branding for businesses. It was founded by Charlotte, who oversees every order from enquiry to dispatch.
What we do
Our focus is likeness. Every figure is modelled individually from the customer’s photos and approved as a digital preview before production. We keep the range focused so that each order gets the attention it needs.
We also make custom branded items for businesses: headphone hangers, apparel and other pieces carrying a company’s own logo. Orders run from a handful to a few hundred, and a prototype and a preview are approved before production.
The first topper we made was of our own wedding, from our wedding photos. It’s the example shown across this site. The same process applies to every order. After the event we work from wedding-day photos. Before a wedding we work from dress and suit fitting photos and recent photos.
How we work
Preview before production
Every custom order starts with a digital preview. Production begins only once you approve it.
Straightforward advice
If your photos won’t support a good likeness, we tell you before we start modelling and refund you in full. If your date is too close, we say so straight away.
Quality-checked
Every piece is inspected before dispatch. If it doesn’t meet our standard, it’s remade.
Technology
AI-assisted software produces a rough first model from your photos. The likeness, detail, colour and finishing are done by us. Every piece is checked by hand.
